Management system recertified according to IATF 16949:2016
A good, stable management system is essential for high-quality products in the coating of glass and plastic parts. Therefore, we at Born Coating GmbH are proud of our successful re-certification according to IATF 16949:2016. Our management system has been audited by LRQA Group Limited and complies with the standard of the IATF 16949:2016, according to the evaluation of the external auditors.
The good safeguarding of the demanding manufacturing processes within the scope of process development as well as the orderliness and cleanliness of our production facilities were particularly positively emphasized.
Our newly developed production dashboard, as an excellent basis for data analysis and identification of focal points which are used to derive improvements, was also positively mentioned by the auditors. Another noteworthy aspect was our positive corporate culture, which is a good basis for innovation, further development and improvement.
The current certificate of Born Coating GmbH is valid for another three years (until July 2026).
Recertification of the quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and the environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015
Quality plays a decisive role for sensitive components in the automotive sector, but also in sensor technology and the medical sector. For this reason, we are regularly certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. The LRQA Group now certifies once again that Bte Bedampfungstechnik GmbH and Born Coating GmbH meet the required criteria.
In course of the DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 certification, our company organization with structured specifications and documents as well as our employee information portal on current topics were identified as strengths. In addition, our IT security briefings and our e-learning platform in the areas of safety, health and the environment were mentioned positively. The auditors also stated that order and cleanliness are at the highest level.
A sensitive approach to our environment and its resources is also very important for our company, which is why we value certification according to the DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 standard. Here, too, we have been successfully recertified. The auditors particularly mentioned our environmental program, which includes several extensive energy savings.
The certificates DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 issued for Bte Bedampfungstechnik and Born Coating are valid for three years (until September 2026).
Team performance leads to successful results in recertifications
"During the recertification phase, we took the opportunity to break new ground with our QM system as a team. We included new perspectives, and for the first time without external support," says Marc Wakefield, Head of Quality Management at Bte Born. "We are therefore particularly pleased that compliance with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 has been confirmed without any deviation. This shows that our customers' goods are well taken care of, and also that we are successfully working together as a team."

IATF 16949:2016 is the automotive standard set by the IATF (International Automotive Task Force). IATF 16949:2016 was developed as a holistic approach to meet the requirements of e.g. quality, reliability of delivery or cost efficiency in increasingly complex supply chains.
DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally specified quality management standard that requires companies to define, maintain and improve a quality management system. A quality policy that is planned and supported by the management, the involvement of employees and continuous measurement and analysis of the system are part of the required features.
DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 is a globally recognized standard that defines requirements for an environmental management system.
