Infrared Radiation
Infrared radiation is part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Abbrevation IR. It ranges from the microwave range (~1mm) to the deep red range of visible light (750 nm = 0.75μm). Infrared is more precisely divided into:
- long-wave infrared (LWIR) 8-15μm
- mid-wave infrared (MWIR) 3μm-8μm
- short-wave infrared (SWIR) 1μm-3μm
- near infrared (NIR) 750nm-1μm
