Silver mirrors

Silver mirrors achieve a high level of reflection

Silver possesses the highest reflectivity among all metals in the visible spectrum. Silver mirrors are primarily employed in the visible to infrared spectral range. Typically, they are safeguarded against "tarnishing," which refers to discoloration caused by sulphide formation, through the application of an additional oxide layer.

Silver surface mirrors reflect up to 95-98 % of visible light. In addition, silver mirrors reflect colors with high fidelity and natural hues, without color shifts and tone changes. This makes them well suited for applications that require high color fidelity, e.g. in camera technology / photography.
