How to replace the sun

Testing of photovoltaic systems (modules) in laboratory conditions without real sun

Solar simulation filters convert nearly any light source into the spectrum of natural sunlight and thus support the inline testing of photovoltaic modules, for example.

How does the sun get into the laboratory or production facility?

Solar energy systems such as photovoltaic systems need to be functional and durable for decades, even in harsh weather conditions and with little maintenance. The materials used and finished modules must therefore be tested for their service life. Photovoltaic modules, for example, are put through their paces in special test chambers, including in terms of their efficiency. But how do you imitate the light spectrum of the sun in a production hall or test chamber?
